Equipment

Home Brewing Equipment:

Mash Tun:
  • 10 gallon beverage cooler mash tun
Kettles:
  • Hot Liquor Tank: 7 gallon stainless steel kettle used to heat strike and sparge water for the mash.
  • Boil Kettle: We have a 15 gallon stainless kettle that I use for 5 & 10 gallon batches.  We have a 25 gallon kettle that can be used for larger batches or as a mash tun.
  • Turkey Fryer Pot: 7 gallon capacity aluminum pot used for heating or holding any additional water
Burners:
  • Blichman burner with extended legs
  • Turkey Fryer burner if we need to do a double mash
  • Propane Tanks - always good to have a spare to borrow from the grill since we no longer live next door to Kroger
Carboys (Fermentors):
  • 4 @ 6.5 gallon capacity used as primary fermentors
  • 4 @ 5 gallon capacity used as secondary fermentors where dry hops and other additions are added

Cart/Stand:
  • This rolling cart is useful in creating the height necessary to transfer the wort from the mash tun to the boil kettle using gravity and a silicone tube.  It is also useful in holding and transporting other equipment in & out of the house.

Grain Mill:
  • The Northern Brewer Captain Crush mill has been a nice addition that gives us the ability to store grains in bulk and have many malts on hand.
